1990 :
All Japan National Kart A2. He won the Championship. 1990-1991 : Toranosuke continued to contest the All Japan Championship Kart A2 series, winning every race in the 1990 season and finishing second overall in 1991. 1992-1993 : A move to Formula Toyota in 1992 saw Toranosuke take two wins before moving up to the All Japan F3 Championship the following year. He was ranked 10th in the final standings. 1994 : He finished fifth overall in his second year of Formula Three and recorded one fastest lap. He made his Formula 3000 debut in the seventh round of the All Japan Championship at the wheel of a Nakajima Planning entry. He finished seventh, eighth and ninth respectively in the three races he contested. |

: In his first full season in the All Japan F3000
Championship, again with Nakajima Planning, Toranosuke
took three wins, two pole positions and two fastest laps
on his way to securing second place in the final
standings. 1996 : Continuing his allegiance to Nakajima Planning, he moved to the All Japan Formula Nippon Championship, finishing fourth overall with two wins, four pole positions and one fastest lap. 1997 : He signed for Tyrrell Formula One team as official test driver while continuing to contest the All Japan Formula Nippon series. He scored one win and recorded four pole positions during the season. |
