In spite of his unlucky accident at Montreal, the Frenchman had shown earlier in the season that he had reached maturity. Galvanised by the arrival of Alain Prost as team owner, Olivier had grown rapidly in popularity with the French public. But winning races is the aim of the exercise! With the help of the Peugeot engine next season, Panis and Prost GP will have the means to perform exploits. So long as the "Professor", Alain Prost, has got his calculations right!
