This may be the year of
McLaren's big return to the fore! With the momentum of
their successes last season, when Coulthard and Hakkinen
won three grands prix, the McLaren team, headed by Ron
Dennis, may cause a major shake-up. The brilliant
engineer Adrian Newey has designed a totally new car,
this time capable of finishing races. Why shouldn't it
also be capable of winning the British team a
constructors' world championship title, seven years after
the last one? Meanwhile, the engine supplier, Mercedes,
has thoroughly remodelled the V10 Mercedes-Benz F0110G.
Williams and Ferrari would do well not to lose sight of
this opponent, much more than a mere outsider ! |
