The favourite for the 1997 World Championship made it through at the post! At the age of 26, and after only two seasons in Formula 1, the Canadian is World Champion. But things were not all that simple for Villeneuve, the son of Gilles Villeneuve, a Formula 1 star of the 1970s who died prematurely. Jacques Villeneuve's next objective, naturally, will be to retain his title. But the opposition will be terrible!
