Leaving aside Hungary, the 1996 World Champion was out of the running all season. The gamble of joining Arrows failed miserably, and it was a year to forget as fast as possible! With Jordan-Mugen-Honda in 1998, though, the Englishman should have a better car to drive. And most important of all, with a much more competitive engine than the very modest Yamaha V10 run by TWR in 97 !
