Liked the part on the training aircraft carriers. USS Wolverine (ex Seeandbee) also was a side wheeler, not a stern wheel paddle boat. I have the plans. Many of the aircraft that crashed off both vessels now are being recovered and restored. Some even fly! The Kalamazoo Air Museum (the Air Zoo) is one with an active program and always has one in the shop. It is called the Air 'Zoo because it has an example of every Cat the Navy has flown. Well worth a visit.

My Dad is a WWII and Korean War veteran,
although he was in the Army. I enjoyed reading
your story very much. The way you told of your
experiences reminded me very much of how my
Dad used to tell me about some of his
experiences. You have my thanks and my
deepest respect for serving our country in the
way that you did, by putting yourself in harm's
way. Please consider yourself having been
saluted by email!

Hi, I liked the look and feel of your URL but on reading the story from page one I was blown away by your apologia and self-criticism for having the gall to write this story. It would be much improved without these negative statements.
Offered with respect and my kind regards,
John Woods

I am truly sorry I did not have this information
and outstanding photos when I wrote the Petrof
Bay book, "Escort Carrier WW II."
I would however be interested in obtaining a number of these photos and using some of your information on the 2nd edition. Can you help me?

What a great site! My father was a pilot in the USN at the exact same time as Ens. Allison. Apparently they were exactly the same age as well and both came from the midwest. My father from Kansas. My father Dayo D. "Red" Prindle died in 1978, so reading t
is for me has been an insight into how my father must have reacted at exactly the same time!!! I am doing a research paper and wanted my father's impressions of his time as a pilot in World War II but was kind of sunk because of his death. Then I found th
s site. Thanks so much!!!!!

Hi Uncle Bob, I saw a draft last year and now it looks even better. Thanks for putting it where we can all get to it. Now we need to talk Carl into writing his, the statute of limitations should be past for most of his misadventures.
