Barbara flew into San Diego Airport at 2:22 AM Thu Apr. 29, 2004, It is Great being back together.
Fri. Apr. 30th we visited Mission Trails Regional Park here in Santee, Ca. and the old Mission (Padre) Dam which was build in 1813.

The Weekend of May 1-3 while Barbara was here we had 3 out 4 of my daughters here with all 10 of my Grand Kids and Great Grandson. Then Sat. they went and had a group picture taken and that was my early Fathers Day present from the kids. A very enjoyable weekend.


Took a drive up the hill above Santee and took pictures of the Valley here where I live

Friday May 7th Frank and Char arrived from Australia for their holiday here in the states, This is the 12th time since 1977 that they have come over for holiday, first met them via radio back in the 70's.

May 9th (Mothers Day) we had a breakfast at Bonny's for Frank and Char with some of the radio group that has know them over the years, The numbers who attend each time is getting smaller all the time.

We left Santee Monday morning May 10th heading north taking I-15 to I-70 east stopping at Richfield, Ut. the first night. On east through Vail, Co. the Eisenhower Tunnel, Denver and stopping in Longmont, Co. on day two. While there we visited with my step mother, went to the cemetery where my folks are buried. Back heading east the next morning catching I-80 on to Lincoln, Nb. where we stopped the last night. Arriving in Des Moines at 10:30 AM on the 13th of May.

Mon. May 17th Frank and Char showed up here at Barb's place in Iowa while touring about the country. We took a tour around Des Moines and saylorville lake.

Sat. May 22, went to Barb's youngest Grandsons High School Graduation from the same High School she and I graduated from a few years ago.


June 27th we celebrated 1 year back together. Had a great filet at the Iowa Steak House where we had ate that first night when we got back together again after 43 years of being apart.

Monday the 28th I headed back to Ca., stopped the 29th in Mojave. Had Denise and family, Tricia's 3 children all come to the motel, we then went out for dinner and had a nice visit. Then the next morning I headed on home in Santee where I will spend the rest of summer taking care of things around my place till we are together again.


I have been going through the work up for hip replacement surgery and pretty much stuck at home here in Ca. so Barb flew out on 3 Nov. What a wonderful perk me up for me, We were able to get around as long as I didn't have to walk to much. Went to the Cabrillo Monument and old light house on Point Loma one afternoon, a beautiful site on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific ocean

We also made a trip up through the Luguna Mountains, then down to Borrego Springs for lunch in the Anza Borrego Desert, then across to Ocotillo and back up over the mountain home.

We spent one day at the Factory Outlet stores at the Viejas Indian Reservation, also went to the Casino while we were there for a little while. We had 3 of my daughters and their familes here for diner one day and then just spent the rest of the time enjoying each others company.

Barb flew back home to Iowa on the 11 of Nov. I definitley enjoyed our time together and am anxious to get this surgery over so I will be able to get around better. then I will be looking forward to getting back on the road and being able to travel.
