LATEST VICTIM OF THE TERRORISM

Terrorism today targets not only certain groups in certain countries but also all humankind, universal peace and brotherhood.

Terror could not become the means of some political objectives and this fact is agreed upon by the whole world with the latest examples.

Terrorist organizations such as ETA, IRA, PKK, FNLC and HAMAS are known for their standings against the establishment, stability, democratization, and peace.

ETA was established in Spain in 1958 by the resistance against Franco under the ideology of Marxism-Leninism. The first massacre of the separatist terrorist organization, ETA was conducted on June 7, 1968. After Franco’s death, Spain gets rid of the obstacles on the way of joining the world of civilized nations and no reason was left for the existence of the ETA. However, the ETA continued its nonsense killings. The killings were not nonsense for the ETA which turned from a revolutionary group to a terrorist mafia organization dealing with drug smuggling.

In 1991, it was revealed that money laundering was carried out in a currency exchange division in the French Basque region which had its pro-ETA owner, Xavier Guimon. Two Iranians who were laundering money there were found to be the members of the terrorist organization, PKK and they had been arrested before by the Spanish police for the seizure of 7 kilograms of heroin. These Iranian members of the PKK had sold the heroin in Spain and exchanged their income in Spanish currency with the French Franc in the said division. Later on, they bought with that income arms and ammunition to be transferred to the PKK.

All the terrorist groups, the Islamist reactionaries, fascist nationalists and Marxist revolutionaries have the one aim which is to destroy democracy and to establish a totalitarian, antidemocratic order.

The ETA has killed 803 people for the past 30 years. In Turkey, also regarding the era before 1980, more than 15,000 people have lost their lives under terrorist attacks.

The 803rd murder by the ETA has caused widespread reaction of the Spanish people. 3 million people took to the streets to protest the assassination of 29 year old politician Miguel Angel Blanco. The Spanish people mourn for Miguel Angel Blanco. We symphatize with the Spaniards and hope that such an assassination will not happen again.

We once again call every one struggling for human rights to take a clear stand against terrorism and create a solidarity front against it.
