GERMANY DOES NOT STOP FOLLOWING KADEK

Operations keep going continuously against the PKK-KADEK, which is in a difficult position after its inclusion in the EU's list of terrorist organizations.

According to news published in German press, while operations are being carried out against associations activating on behalf of the banned terrorist organization KADEK-PKK, the trial of two terrorists determined as KADEK officials has started.

It has been stated in the issue dated April 2, 2003 of Allgemeine Zeitung daily that:

"Two terrorists, determined as the officials of the banned terrorist organization KADEK-PKK, account for before Celle High Provincial Court. Federal Attorney General's Office accuses the defendants for being members of the banned KADEK-PKK and for organizing activities of the terrorist organization in various cities. In the indictment, it has been stated that KADEK-PKK officials in Germany "committed crimes directed by the center". These crimes included murder, arson, blackmail, forging documents and smuggling banned officials of the organization to Germany. The officials of the terrorist organization KADEK seized in Cologne on February 1, 2003 are in prison since that date."

In the meantime, the police detained 60 people on April 2, 2003 succeeding the searching in "Mala Kurd Association" operating in Berlin on behalf of the banned terrorist organization KADEK-PKK. Berlin police expressed that numerous prohibited publications and a plastic jerry can were found in the Association. It has also been stated that the reason of the searching was the investigation commenced by the Attorney's Office regarding numerous people determined to involve in the events occurred in Hermannplatz Square in the vicinity of Neukolln. During the mentioned incidents the supporters of the terrorist organization KADEK-PKK burned many tires in the streets. It is estimated that the plastic jerry can used to burn the tires was taken from the office of the Association.

In early January 2003 the police carried out operations against various associations in Munich, which were determined to operate by the orders of the terrorist organization PKK (KADEK) and manipulate the sympathizers, arrested many people including managers and members of the association for "being a member of the terrorist organization", and closed Med Culture Center and Mezopotamya Culture Center due to its association with the terrorist organization KADEK-PKK.

German Federal Court of Appeal decided on February 28, 2003 that "everybody supporting the campaign of solidarity with the banned KADEK-PKK in Germany should be punished". With this decision of German Court it has been stated that around 40 thousand people, who had participated in the campaign organized in 2001 in Europe by the PKK-KADEK by signing the statement titled "I'm also a PKK member", were fined 600 Euro for "showing solidarity with the terrorist organization".

On March 24, 2003 during his explanation regarding "2002 Activity Report of the Constitutional Protection Organization" Bavarian Interior Minister Gunther Beckstein emphasized that the ban on the terrorist organization KADEK would continue; he also stated that: "Half of the violent activities in German was carried out by the terrorist organization KADEK-PKK. The most dangerous terrorist organization for public order is KADEK-PKK." During the press conference of German Minister of Interior Otto Schily on March 3, 2003, he stressed that KADEK should be included in the EU's list of terrorist organizations; he also stated that: "As the successor organization of the PKK, KADEK was banned in Germany. Unfortunately it is not the same in every European country."

This attitude of Germany towards terrorists should set an example for other EU countries. KADEK, which is trying to increase its violent activities by declaring that it is the successor of the PKK and continuing to disturb the public order of European countries, should be included in the EU's list of terrorist organizations.
