NARCOTICS TRAFFICKERS OF THE PKK-KADEK UNDER TRIAL!...

The terrorist organization PKK-KADEK, in an effort to get influential in international narcotics trafficking, seeks to overcome its financial crisis with money procured from narcotics. Successful operations in European countries and Turkey carried out by the narcotic police have disrupted heroin trafficking of the terrorist organization and the narcotic trafficking KADEK members arrested in these operation are under trial.

On May 6, 2003, the daily Der Bund, being one of the leading newspapers in Switzerland, published an article entitled "Donations Made to PKK-KADEK Coming From Narcotics?" This article brings to attention that the terrorist organization PKK-KADEK procures a huge income from narcotics trafficking and emphasizes that the narcotic traffickers are under trial.

The article says as follows: "5 narcotic traffickers being members of the terrorist PKK-KADEK are under trial in the local court of Bern-Laupen since yesterday. According to the information obtained from detectives in Bern, the police carried out an operation on September 21, 2001 in the Customs of Chiasso and seized 16 kg heroin and arrested 5 PKK-KADEK members. The five narcotic traffickers, being members of the terrorist organization, were put under trial the day before. However, not all the suspects attended the court hearing and it was stated that two of them, D... and B.... both KADEK members and Swiss citizens, were receiving psychological treatment since they were narcotic addicts. The suspects attending the court hearing of the Bern-Laupen Court headed by Christine Schaer were A..., 30 years old, C..., 35 years old; and E..., 45 years old and all of them drug dealers.

It has been identified that these suspects, being members of the terrorist KADEK, have repeatedly carried at least 20 kg of heroin into Switzerland within the period between June-September 2001either on their own or as a band. It has been emphasized that the narcotics have been prepared in packages of 500 grams and sold for 14.000 Francs to various consumers and young people in Bern and Basel. These suspects, being KADEK members, are also accused of money laundering.

The investigation of the bank accounts of the suspects have revealed that they have transferred to the PKK-KADEK by way of donation approximately 260.000 Francs and a huge amount of money procured from narcotics trafficking. The suspect called A... confessed that for many years he had been working for the PKK and had been sending each year 4-6 million Francs that he procured from this activity to the representatives of the organization in Turkey."

Last month some people carrying 16 kg of heroin were arrested by the Narcotic Police while trying to leave for Austria by ferryboat in the Harbour of Cesme/IZMIR. It became clear that the PKK-KADEK was behind this activity. The statements made to press by the arrested Gurbuz Demirhan and his girlfriend Fatma Hanym Stephansky were as follows: "An executive leader of a Kurdish association in Vienna affiliated with KADEK had stated that they would pay us 15 thousand Euro for bringing them heroin. Unemployed people like us are trapped in KADEK's web of narcotics." This statement reveals the active role that the terrorist organization plays in narcotics trafficking.

Likewise, in early 2003, a narcotic operation called "Matrushka" was carried out jointly by US, Russian and Turkish narcotic teams resulting with the confiscation of 3,5 tons of acidic anhydrite, that is used for the production of heroin, while this was tried to be carried into Turkey so as to provide finance for the terrorist PKK-KADEK. The TIR arrived at the Samsun Harbour by boat departing from the Novorosisk Harbour in Russia. The narcotic teams learnt that this TIR would drive to Elazig, from there to Van and from there to European countries. As a result of the operation the narcotic teams seized the aforementioned substance, that is being used in the production of heroin, packed in 15 plastic barrels totaling an amount of 3,5 tons. The 9 suspects arrested in this operation have revealed that they conducted their activities on behalf of the terrorist PKK-KADEK.

According to an article published in the daily Le Progres on December 9, 2002, the police had carried out an operation as a result of which the bothers Omer and Ozgur Kara were arrested and imprisoned since they were resorted to narcotics trafficking by the terrorist PKK-KADEK.

In the "International Organized Crimes Report" revealed last year by the USA, it has been underlined that the terrorist PKK-KADEK is active in heroin trafficking in western European countries and the money procured from this activity is used for financing its terrorist activities.

Meanwhile, it has been declared that a new agreement has been signed on the Struggle Against Terrorism and Organized Crimes among the Ministers of Interior of Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria in a meeting held on May 10, 2003 in Antalya. At the end of the meeting, the decision was taken to improve the existing cooperation on terrorist activities targeting their countries, illegal migration, narcotics trafficking and other organized crimes to the utmost level.
