IRAQ WILL BE CLEANED FROM TERROR!..

It is indicated that the USA is about to start the operations to destroy the terrorist PKK-KADEK, which resists to leave its arms, continues its violent acts and preserves its threatening structure, in the frameworks of the attempts to disarm Iraq and purify it from terrorism.

One of the leading British newspapers, The Observer, made an interview (May 11, 2003) with the female terrorists being member of the PKK-KADEK and conducting activities in the Kandil Mounts in Northern Iraq. The Observer has drawn attention to the fact that the PKK-KADEK, which is included in the list of terrorist organizations of the EU and the USA, has still nearly 5.000 armed members in Northern Iraq and the American administration standing in the middle of the struggle against the terrorism is about the start the operations to annihilate this organization.

According to The Observer, the PKK-KADEK still continues its activities in the region that is under the control of the USA. It is stated in the newspaper that Turkey is an important strategical ally of the USA in the region and it is the high time for the USA to take actions in order to destroy the PKK-KADEK, which is in the top list of the terrorist organizations, in the framework of the struggle against the terrorism.

Cofer Black, the US Coordinator for the Global Fight Against Terrorism, gave a press release on May 9, 2003 during which he expressed that the problems with the terrorist PKK-KADEK would be solved soon and said: "The fight against terrorism will continue in the entire Middle East, not only in Iraq. International cooperation is very important in this field. Legal and political measures should be also taken as much as military ones. We want to include the other countries in the region into our current cooperation with Turkey. The United States wants to create a democratic Iraq and they will not give permission for northern Iraq to become the shelter for any terrorist organization. The Unites States will not permit attacks aimed at Turkey. The PKK is a terrorist organization and we do not negotiate with such organizations. We have always been opposed to the PKK. The problem in Northern Iraq will be solved as soon as possible."

Myers, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff telephoned his Turkish counterpart Ozkok last week. During the conversation, he said: "you were concerned about Mosul and Kirkuk. We are ousting the armed Kurdish from here and disarming them." Myers stated that the United States is making plans to oust the PKK from north Iraq. He said: "We will disarm the PKK (KADEK) and make it inefficient. Our plans are continuing in this regard". During the interview on CNN TURK, Marc Grossman, the US Assistant Secretary of State, said: "the USA will take any kind of measure in order to end the presence of the PKK-KADEK in Northern Iraq. The USA and Iraqi people aim that Iraq have no ties with the terrorism and the region is purified from the terrorists." With his statement, Marc Grossman explained the USA's determination to maintain the cooperation with Turkey in the framework of the struggle against terrorism.

Besides the American messages signaling the destruction of the PKK-KADEK that tries to be reorganized in Northern Iraq, it is indicated that Turkey has also been preparing to issue a comprehensive Law of Penitence including also the senior cadres of the organization in order to prevent the recurrence of the terrorism and conflicts.

In addition to the Law of Penitence and legal arrangements aiming to join the cadres of the terrorist organization into the society, it is emphasized that the works to solve the economic and social problems continue intensively so as to annihilate the financial sources of the terrorism.

In the framework of the EU Adaptation laws approved on August 3rd, 2002, the death penalty is abolished in Turkey; the bans on Kurdish language, broadcasting and education are lifted; important steps are taken to outspread the human rights and freedoms.

The expectation of the public opinion is that the PKK-KADEK leadership, which announces they are ready to leave the arms, takes concrete and persuasive steps, proves its messages saying that "the armed struggle is ended and they are for the democracy" and liquidates its armed forces as soon as possible; in stead of buying arms and missiles, making secret negotiations with the imperialist powers and threatening with making war.
