LARKIN CLEVELAND CALLAWAY, JR., My great grandfather GEORGE JACKSON, working on the Causeway in Galveston, Texas....All of his brothers were ship captains in Ardrossan, Ayshire, Scotland but he was unable to be one due to his height...He broke his back as a very young man which stunted his growth....So he became a cook on the ships and that is how he got to the States...... MARY(MOLLIE)PRICILLA LUTTRELL CALLAWAY JACKSON & GEORGE JACKSON... My great grandparents.....When Mollie's husband Larkin Cleveland Callaway, Jr. died...he asked his best friend George Jackson from Ardrossan, Ayshire, Scotland to take care of Mollie and the children....George married Mollie a year later and raised the children as his own....He even adopted my mother, Evelyn Patricia Alterman Jackson, when her mother, Mollie's daughter, Ruby Clara Callaway, was unable to care for her....
