King Arthur

6th Century.Arthurian Legend.
Arthur was the King of the Britions who fought against the invading Anglo-Saxons. He was a wise and valient ruler. The table was round so that no one members seemed favoured over the others. Arthur gathered a great number of knights in his court. A magnificent court was maintained at Caerleon-upon-Usk (perhaps the legendary Camelot), on the southern border of Whales. In his final battle at Camlan in southwestern England, Arthur and Mordred both died, piercedby each others spears. It's said that Arthur was mysteriously carried away to a mythical island of Avalon to be healed of his "grievous wounds".
