TELL ME

Don’t presume to tell me, just who I can or cannot be. I could be a lawyer or a Supreme Court Judge. Don’t tell me to be a bake sale mom, and to make some more fudge. But I could be a great chief, or a fire fighter. Don’t tell me just to smile brighter. But I could be a model, or a fashion designer. Don’t tell me to be a rich man’s wife, and never aim any higher. But I could be an executive, or own my own company. Don’t tell me to be a silent little lady, and to expect a man to support me totally. But I could be a politician, or a mom baking for my family, or a supportive wife, or a roll model, as a lady, But please, please, don’t presume to tell me, just who I can or cannot be.

BEAUTY

What is beauty?
Is it being a size 6, or the size right for me?
Is it being 5’11, or being the height for you?
Is it wearing the designer suits, or the suits that best suit you?
Is it walking with your nose in the air like a fashion model,
or waling with you head held high, with confidence and pride?
Beauty cannot be defined or labeled, for it lies inside.

I AM A WOMAN

I am a woman, so step aside,
don’t even try to give me a free ride.
Let me work for my wage,
Equal to a man’s.
On my own two feet I stand.
I am a woman, and I have a plan,
I am my #1 fan.
I am a woman, this is my battle cry,
so just step back,
I can do it on my own, just let me try.
I am a woman, but not a weaker sex,
never weaker, as long as I do my best.

FLY

Fly away, my friend,
Fly away
Why do you persist to stay?

Spread your wings,
take to flight
into the clear and peaceful night.

Fly away from the torture,
fly away from the pain
You only have your life to gain.

Do you not realize,
that you will die here?
Do you not realize,
That you don’t have to live in fear?

Take flight my friend,
let this horror have a happy end.

My friend so pure
for your pain this is the cure.

Fly away my friend,
spread your glorious wings.
Go join the world,
to be free and to sing.

SHE

She sits alone in the dark, cold, scared, and depressed. She hold her hand up to her face peers into the dark, but can not see. A single candle is lit it drives away the dark. She gazes in wonder as it slowly burns down to a nub. The flame grows smaller and smaller still. Then it went out. She could not rekindle the flame. She sits alone in the dark again. She sinks into despair now that the flame is gone she cannot see a door out. Finally she thinks she sees a way. So she gives in to the dark. She is gone.
