An anonymous poem I found with a very STRONG message: DON'T PROCRASTINATE!

LIFE

I told LIFE what I wanted one day,
And LIFE told me I could start right away.
I said, "I want riches, glory and fame,"
And LIFE said, "go get it you're in the right game."

I replied I was tired of living foolish, like a nut.
LIFE replied, "then do something to help yourself out of that rut!"
I didn't quite hear the words LIFE had to say,
But I just knew somehow, I was on my way.

As I planned for the future, and all that I had,
I kept hearing LIFE whisper, "get started my lad!"
But as events came up, as they always seem to do,
I left my plans for tomorrow, instead of following through.

Then as days turned into years, I just wondered in awe,
What had happened to LIFE, and the visions I saw?
The homes and the cars, private schools for the kids.
Not one of them we saw; not one of them we even did.

So I confronted LIFE boldly, and asked in rage,
"what happened to you, LIFE, and the plans we had made?"
What LIFE then replied, I shall never forget,
It's wisdom and truth will always be in my debt.

LIFE said, "I am in you and you are in me,
But YOU make the decision, of where you will be.
I gave you freedom to choose any road,
But YOU are the vehicle that must move your own load!"
