Forty Years, 6/2008

 

You and I are friends, and have been lovers, for years,
Forty, Wow to be exact, for this we have got to cheer.
We’re best friends, and this is the way we’ll stay,
There for each other, no matter what some may say.

Let’s hope that God allows us another forty more,
We’ll work, love and strive to squeeze out forty-four.
It’ll get easier sweetie, I wish and pray real soon,
We then can relax, travel, and sing our tunes.

I am happy and content, I hope you feel the same;
Without your company, I would likely go insane.
You are my stabilizer, my rudder and my strength.
Together we can survive most traumas of any length.

We are a special couple, who seldom have a fight,
Hope for health, happiness with our needs in sight.
Happy anniversary sweetheart for now the fortieth time,
Our love for each other doesn’t need any other signs.
