A STRUGGLE WITH THIRTY-ONE, 6/99

We have got it now for we're at thirty-one,
it's been much struggle along with some fun.
This year was the hardest one for me,
With some side trips, wanting to be free.

I now know my place and it is with you,
My mate for life, I hope you want that too.
We have struggled, fought, but kept our cool,
I've done things not ashamed of, am I a fool?

We're back, baby I think stronger than ever,
Let's vow to stay that way and fight never.
On the bright side, I never stopped loving you,
I couldn't leave you hon, no matter what you do.
We're good people, always trying to help others,
Forgetting ourselves, our needs and each other.

From here on babe, lets do four things, but only for us,
in any order you choose, but for you and me that's a must.
Get out of your current job for honey it is not for you,
Working hard and they're not happy with whatever you do.

Next help me get out of my job for it's for a kid half my age,
I can get a better job and we can move on and turn the page.
Then we need to get away from our respective mothers,
They are the cause of our problems and to each other.

Finally, to work to enjoy and to vacation as much as we can,
For we've earned this, raising two kids, baby I'm your fan.
I'll always love you and cherish our lives, for it's so short,
Happy anniversary to my mate, let's hold hands and go forth.

Love and kisses,
your hubby, PeterR
