9a Norah Head. Shows the arrangement seven teeth, the double one appearing as two closely set teeth. Some show a tiny undeveloped eighth tooth medially placed at the base of the aperture, almost in front of the tall outstanding tooth. 9c shows a juvenile specimen; the whorls are more rounded than seen in the single toothed pupa types.
9a Nelson Bay. The three examples found there all have six teeth. The structure of the double tooth as part of the lip is more obvious. The older the shell, the more developed the teeth and aperture.
10. Represents the inland types found at Kurri Kurri and Greta. These are clearly allied to the Nelson Bay type but the aperture is more angular and vertically limited. The shell is smaller than the Central Coast and Nelson Bay types and the whorls more rounded.
