I went on a date tonight,
One I never agreed to before.
We had the time of our lives together,
The last thing it was, is a bore.
We went to the movies, even two!
And shared popcorn between ourselves.
We made ourselves all comfortable
Just short of taking off our shoes.
We checked out the crowd around us.
Groups of many, couples of two.
We smiled and grinned and thought,
I’m glad “I have you”.
I went on a date tonight,
And no it’s not a guy.
I had the time of my life,
With me, myself and I.
