Nature has a dominating place in the works of Jan Hendrix.
He is fascinated by great, untouched landscapes, where he, one with
nature, as it were, is confronted by primeval forces which, overwhelming
and mysterious at the same time, are the essence of existance. During his travels he captures the landscape with a polaroid camera. He disects these images and reduces them to essential, abstract shapes, which he uses in his silkscreens as silhouets or single contours. |
