Adria Ceelen is a Dutch painter and sculptress. In a review of a recent exhibition the Eindhovens Dagblad's art critic Désirée Meulenbroeks wrote about her:

"Adria Ceelen isn't interested in a choice of style, but the influence of the Arte Povera is the strongest element in her work. Apparently Ceelen does not feel any restraints or reserve in expressing graphically what occupies her mind, which makes her work, in a way, disarming"
The inspiration for this painting came during a storm, while camping in France.
