Herman Brood is a Dutch musician, painter and poet.
Every time he feels the urge to create something, he has to choose.
"I can't deny that when I do one thing, I might just as well have done the other", he
says. All his life his inspiration has come from American cinema, music and literature: Lenny Bruce, James Dean, Jerry Lee Lewis, William Burroughs, Tom Wolfe. A big influence in his graphic art has been the Dutch painter Lucebert. "Lucebert, Lucebert, the radiance of that name..." |
