Morpheus, God of Dreams

Morpheus and IrisMorpheus, the God of Dreams, was a god that developed fairly late in mythology. Hesiod said that originally dreams were believed to be the daughters of Nyx (night). However, later Ovid named the three sons of Sleep Morpheus, who sends dreams of human form, Phobeter, who sends dreams of beasts, and Pantasos, who sends dreams of inanimate things.
