The
three Graces, Aglaia (Charis), Euphrosyne and Thalia, were the
daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, or of Zeus or Dionysus and
Aphrodite. They personified beauty, charm and friendship. They
were also Aphrodite's attendants, although they have little myth
of their own.
Some myths make references to
other Graces, implying there may have been more than three.
Aglaia may have been a wife of Hephaestus, and the youngest
Grace, Pasithea, was promised in marriage to Hypnos, the God of
Sleep.
