Eris, Goddess of Strife and Discord
Eris, the daughter of Zeus and Hera, according to Homer, or possibly Nyx (night), According to Hesiod, was the goddess of Strife and Discord. Eris is also responsible for lies and falsehoods, battles and murders. She is also said to be, in some myths, the twin of Ares and sister of Arge, Eleithyia, Hebe and Hephaestus. The romans identify Eris as Discordia goddess of quarrels and dissension, although I have found some greek myths that also call her Discordia. She was a goddess who inspired heroes to compete against each other in noble deeds.
It is Eris who throws the 'golden apple' into the gathering for Peleus and Thetis' wedding, designating it "for the fairest". This begins the contest between Athena, Artemis and Hera to win the apple, with the Trojan Paris acting as judge. It is Paris' awarding the apple to Aphrodite in exchange for Helen of Troy, thus starting the Trojan War. This story however is an addition and not part of the original myth. Eris and Athena also inspired Heracles in his labors. Eris is the mother of Ate by Zeus.
Discord today 
Discord was played by Meighan Desmond on Hercules, Xena and Young Hercules. She is 5'4", and has Hazel eyes. Meighan trained at the South Seas film and Television school under David Coddington. She also enjoys sports such as rollerblading and horseback riding and she studies Japanese. Meighan's birthday is September 27, 1976,.
