Eirene, also known as Pax (Peace) was one of the
Horae. Eirene personifies calm, quiet and stillness. She was the
daughter of Zeus and Themis, and were charged with keeping order
in the Greek world. The Horae were the goddesses of the Seasons.
Also, in the Iliad, the Horae are shown as the gate
keepers of Olympus.
Eirene was widely worshipped because she brought about prosperity and wealth to those who followed her teachings. Although some found her a boring goddess, overall she was regarded as one of the fairest Goddesses..
