ABDC, TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF ME?

Comfortable bureaucrats, void of the woes,
is your toddler toddling, minus his toes?
Hands they are reaching, yet you don't perceive,
ailing hearts, slanted spines; whose responsibility?
Stolen ears, organ donors?
With such special needs, who made them loners?
Power hungry, no-fault liars!
Devils brew amidst war-fires.
Determination, innocence, love,
Gulf War Child, or product of?
Up the hill, White as snow,
the House has ears, but refuse to know.
Dear God! Countrymen! Patriots! Can't it be true?
We just cover up, like all Hitlers *DU?
A pure creation of life, no doubt,
is something we all should think about.
The pain of war for those who went loyal and strong,
accompanies a travesty in place of a herso's song.
While angelic eyes are a reflection of what they see,
ABDC, tell me what you think of me...

*ABDC is the Association of Birth Defect Children
*DU; depleted uranium; a waste product from nuclear reactors. Shells were jackedted with this in the Gulf War.

TEENAGE YEARS

The bedroom that was cluttered,
like a signature in ink,
barely looks like the place,
Rose painted her lips pink.
A china doll stands lonesome,
dressed pretty for the void,
where once my teenage daughter,
played music I called noise.
I didn't mind her chatter,
I welcomed her youthful eyes,
now they have been colored lost,
by the world she's recognized.
Open arms reached out for her,
as she headed towards the door,
her look distant and beyond me,
what was she looking for?
I felt a chill run through my spine,
that some how I couldn't shake,
remembering how we all fall short,
in the years we claim mistake.
Only wanting to run after her,
I stand like a statue of stone,
letting go of my baby girl,
as she explores the feelings of alone.

Trusting Eyes

Trusting eyes,
Doe-like in appearnace,
they gaze upon his mother,
Communication in their gleam,
She knows exactly what they mean;
A nap,
A bottle,
Is it time to play?
So trusting and loving
Without temptations disarray.
Innocent child,
A step closer to heaven
Than all-wise, old souls.
For your light shines brighter
Trusting eyes.
