Poems

I seem to write two kinds of poems. Funny ones and really depressing ones.

I wrote Lonely in Feb '95 when I was (you guessed it) terribly lonely. I'm not usually that far down. Do not read this poem if you tend to get depressed easily.

A *much* more fun poem that I absolutely love is Of Wuggle Bugs that my dear friend Codie and I wrote in August '96 over email. Read this poem! You'll like it. :) Bet you can't tell who wrote which part!!

The next three poems were all written on Jan 21, 1997 while on airplanes and waiting in airports coming home from California.

I wrote Leaving because I was bored in the airport waiting for my flight. I started off with the chorus, as well as a couple other lines that I discarded later. One of them I rather like, but it doesn't fit in this song. Maybe another one will work better with it. And it is a song... I wrote the music to it in the airport as well. The only problem is, I don't have perfect pitch, so I'm rather dreading trying it on the piano -- it won't be all that close I'm sure!

So Real was an attempt at a happier poem... it didn't really work so well. The poem is okay, but it's not terribly happy.

Net was written after "So Real" as another attempt at a happier one. I think this one succeeded. I had problems finishing it, as the last stanza didn't rhyme and was only three lines long when it should have been four, but then in December 1997 Jackpot suggested something that rhymed, and I was able to complete it.

The newest addition to this page came about as a result of a sunset walk by the ocean on a windy evening when the full moon was sitting low and huge on the horizon. It is called Summer Evening.

Amy

I'm sort of writing a story about a girl named Amy who has anorexia. This is how far I got when I was 16 and was writing it for Grade 11 English... some things in there already that I want to fix... but this is the original version.

One of these days I'll get around to doing some more research on anorexia (I did start, at least) and finish the story. I personally do not have anorexia, or even know anyone who has, which makes it kind of tricky. I do have some plot ideas... and some things I am going to change in the original version (like that part where I described in a bit too much detail how she walked out the door on her way to the park one morning).

If you like Amy's Story so far, feel free to tell me! I love being flattered ;) 1
