Subject: Open letter to the Mayor of Ottawa
Dear Mr. Chiarelli:
The
papers
are reporting that Ottawa Council is considering an expenditure of $200,000 for yet another study.
In April 2001, and listed as an achievement on the OCRI web site,
city council approved the expenditure of $250,000 of our money for Talentworks. In November 2001, with much fanfare, Talentworks was launched with a breakfast for 220 people. Talentworks was to report back to us on April of 2002.
To date, this April milestone has not been met.
Mr. Mayor, too many of our hard earned dollars are going to studies that produce no visible results. As our Mayor we ask you to ensure we get a return for tax dollars already spent, and to put a stop to these endless studies that benefit no one but those who get paid to perform them.
