Reassembly Update - June 2000

Project '57 Chevy

Reassembly Part 2

Update June 2000

Reassembly Photos

The reassembly process continues...
This photo shows the front grille and headlights have been installed.  You can also see that the front door glass and vent windows have been installed as well.  The quarter windows have been installed since this photo was taken and the front bumper is in the queue...
Hey, those Keystone Klassic wheels gotta go!

This photo shows the nice contrast of the biege (looks white in these photos) with the reddish-orange of the rest of the body.  You can see the rear bumper has been installed along with the rear tailights and trunk emblem.  I have not installed the side stainless trim or crown moulding yet.  Those items are also in the queue.  Hey, this is supposed to be a hobby! ...haha..

This is a shot from the drivers side rear quarter offering a better view of the rear bumper area.

Fresh paint and shorty block hugger headers with Jet Hot coating

The engine (a .400 cu.in. small block Chevy) after a fresh paint job showing off the shorty "block hugging" headers with Jet Hot coating.  The old trashed out Moroso valve covers are out of here!  I have my eyes on a set of ribbed Mooneyes valve covers (remember the 60's?) that will continue the retro look we're after with Project '57.

GM Performance - More than just power!

I hope to install the engine over the next few weeks and bolt on the new dual exhaust system.  The windshield and backglass are also patiently waiting my attention.

Is a project car ever really done?
