My Car

           This is my 1968 VW Fastback. It has a rebuilt 1600cc fuel injected engine, and a stock swing axle tranny. My friend Steve nicknamed it "The Roach" because I creep around backroads of my town (mostly to steer clear of the POLICE). Anyways, it's my daily driver and restoration project. The black paint was done by Maaco, and the rest of the restoration was done by my dad and I. The rubber has been replaced around the windows, doors, and trunks. It has a new carpet kit with new sound deadening material. It still needs a dash and interior. I want to put in grey tweed material.  Music is supplied by a tape deck and a pair of 6x9 speakers behind the back seat. The lowered stance was achieved by resetting the suspension 3 notches up front with 145r15 tires, and 1 notch in the rear with 165r15 tires. I plan on adding Porche 2.0L chrome wheels and a bigger engine in the future.
