• Mid summer 1996, the engine is disassembled, The new boiler is being designed by Bob Oliver "Olivers Boiler Repairs" in Auburn Ontario. Plans are awaiting Government approval and a Canadian Design Registration number.

  • Everything is removed from the boiler. All pieces are sandblasted , cleaned and primed waiting reassembly.

  • Not too much has happened from fall 1996 until mid summer 1997. Everything is off except engine and rivited brackets on old boiler. The new boiler has been ordered now for delivery early 1998. Remaining engine castings still on old boiler are sandblasted and preparations to remove have begun.

  • Shafts were made to lift engine and castings off in one assembly. Old rivited brackets are to be cut out and rewelded back on.

  • The rear wing sheet is also reused and cut off old boiler. Braces are made to prevent distortion when cut off.

  • The wing sheet is cut off. Rivits and plate are removed from the back & Ground clean on the rear. The rivits are then welded and ground flush on the back.(now only cosmetic)

  • The engine is removed next and brackets cut out of old boiler.

  • At this point there is nothing left to take off or take apart, everything is clean and waiting for new boiler shell.
