All About Me!

My name is Terry Miller. I am employed at Cummins Engine Company, in Columbus, Indiana. My job there is a Mechanical Engineering Tech. Basically this is a fancy name for 'mechanic' with the exception that I design and fabricate different testing rigs used is various diesel engine tests. I've been there for seven years, and the job is great. The politics sucks, but I like the job. I work on diesel tank engines in Army and Marine track vehicles, and I get to travel a lot. Being an Army combat veteran, I enjoy going to military installations and not saluting.

My hobbies are mostly cars, old Fords. I have a 1964 Fairlane 500 that my dad bought new. It is getting in bad need of care considering it has been driven eight miles since 1985. I had a 1967 Fairlane GT/A, aqua, aqua interion, tach, ps, pb, air, buckets, console, and all the rare goodies. It was powered by a hand built 427, built from new old stock, with a 68 service block, lemans rods,a t-bird tri-power,and a C-6 full manual tranny. It was stock, except for a crane RV cam, and small chamber early 390 heads, and put out about a 13.5 to 1 compression ratio. I never dynoed it, but it moved a 3600 pound car with 3.70 gears into the low 11's in the quarter, and yes there was a little tiresmoke, as the Fairlane didn't have much tire space. Right now I have three Rangers, a Bronco II, 64 Fairlane, 79 Ford F-150 4X4, and that is enough.

I was deployed to the Persian Gulf in December of 1990, and was there until July 1991, driving trucks hauling tanks, and bombs. Wasn't my first contact with combat, but hope it is my last. I dunno about you, but I still say it was an oil war Prior to that I was a dealer tech and owned my own business. I've got a wide knowlege on auto electrical, electronics, and powertrain. I rebuild a few trannys for local racers from time to time. Feel free to e-mail me with questions, comments, or thoughts on the Gulf War, or just life in general.
