The 1954 Mercury Monterey Sun Valley, a two-door coupe based on
the popular Mercury Monterey, featured a tinted, quarter-inch plexiglass roof.

Most Sun Valleys offered a two-tone dark green roof coupled with
either a light green or cream-colored lower body section.
Other combinations such as black-and-black do exist, however.
Six different upholstery patterns were available on the Sun Valley.

Like the Monterey coupe, the Sun Valley featured a new front bumper,
single piece hood ornament, wraparound parking lamps, rear bumper,
and wheel covers with a red center. For power, the Sun Valley had the
256ci V-8 engine that generated 161-horsepower at 4400 rpm.
The engine was matched by an improved Merc-O-Matic transmission.

According to our records, 9,761 Monterey Sun Valleys were built for the 1954 model year.
The vehicle was continued for 1955 but as the Montclair Sun Valley.
Only 1,787 of these models were built before being phased out.
