SES Visit
On the 13/9/99 I attended a visit to the SES Erina depot. Tumbi and Gosford Venturer Units attended the night. We met at the hall at 6:15pm and arrived at the depot for a 7:00pm Start. We were first shown around the trucks and boats then inside to the organisation room. We then went back outside where we had stretcher races. In the races we had to take somebody on a stretcher through an obstacle course.
Service
Examiner: Colin Taylor (C.S.L. 1st Berkerly Vale)
I chose to do option 2 for my service. I completed over 12 months of service at 1st Berkerley Vale Cubs with Colin Taylor as my examiner. I attended a division pack holiday camp at Kariong in October 99 and attended on over 25 Wednesday nights. I completed my formal training on the 2nd September 2000 at Glenrock. I received my cub instructors award on the 21/11/00. Attached is my award, handouts from course and certificate for completing the course.
For part 2 I chose to do some helping out at the local nursing home. I assisted by reading the morning paper, helping out with arts and crafts and by taking a couple of people out in their back yard area which backs onto Tuggerah lake. I completed the nessacary hours over 2 days and enjoyed it as much as you possibly can considering that it is a nursing home.
