I'd like to proposed the following Saturday ride to the CAMS executive
board.  I realize that it may be a bit historical and come near to
violating the Brooking Rule.  The ride is approximately (in a CAMS sort
of
way) 80 miles from White's Ferry, MD to Point of Rocks, MD

John will lead the group from Silver Diner to White's Ferry, MD (a
few miles north of Leesburg, turn right onto White's Ferry Road).  The
route picks up from there...

      Cross into MD at White's Ferry ($1.50 for MC's)
       Ride into Poolesville (Get Gas).
Left   onto M109, Elmer School Road
Left   onto MD28, Dickerson Road
Right  onto Mt. Ephraim Road (at stop sign, just under RR Bridge)
       at Sugarloaf Mt. Entrance there's a little open area, proceed
       ahead, but slightly to the right (if you take the one to the left
       you will end up on a dirt road).  I believe that this is MD95
Left   onto MD109
Left   onto Thurston Road
Right  onto MD80, just before I270
       Cross under I-270, through Urbana
Left   onto Price Distillery Road
Right  onto Ljamsville Road
Right  onto Mussetter Road or Rechs Ford Road just before Jamsville
Left   onto Boyers Mill Road
Left   onto Gas House Pike
Right  onto Dance Hall Road at McKaig
Left   onto MD26, Liberty Road at Mt. Pleasant
Right  onto US15
Right  onto Old Frederick Road.  About 1.5-2.5 miles on left is Utica Road
       This is Utica Mills Bridge (circa 1850, rebuilt 1889 after flood)
       and is being rebuilt and is NOT open.
       Continue on Old Frederick Road
       Bear Left on Creagersville Road at Stop Sign
Right  to remain on Old Frederick Road
       go to Loys Station Park
       Cross Loys Bridge (circa 1880)
Left   at second left onto Motters Station Road (no sign, red barn on right)
Left   onto Old Kiln Road (no sign)
Left   at Roddy Road at T
       Cross Roddy Road Bridge (circa 1850)
Straight  on Apple Church Road
Right  onto East Main Street (through Thurmont) (Gas in Thurmont ~50 miles
          from last gas)
Left   onto US15, south
Right  onto Fish Hatchery Road
Left   onto Bethel Road
       Pass throught Bethel
Left   onto Yellow Springs Road
       This turns into Rosemont Avenue
Right  onto US15 South to Point of Rocks MD (Gas at Point of Rocks, ~30
          miles from last gas)
       US15 joins US340  for 4 miles, then

Well recommended by the local flower shop owner in Thurmont, (Jim's???) Bar and Grill across
from the flower shop on main street had excellent food (and it was dirt cheap) and a great
 atmosphere (TNN Motorsports on the TV, and signed NASCAR pics all over the walls).  Very clean
 place.
