Technical Information
The pictures on this page are from the two Haynes manuals, used with the kind permission of Haynes Motortrade division. 'BL Princess & BLMC 18-22 Series' is what you get if you ask for a Princess manual. It covers the 1800 and 2200 models, and the Princess 2 2200 model, bearing in mind that the Princess 2 is a very minor facelfift. On the back is the text 'Does not cover Princess 2 models with four-cylinder O-series engine.'

Total committment to the British Motor Industry is shown by Haynes in giving the Princess 2 its own manual - most of it a duplication of the first, but very pleasing in its thoroughness, as usual. I might point out that my Fiat Uno Haynes manual has a 'supplement' longer than the rest of the manual, having been extended to cover two new engines and the two turbocharged models, as well as the 1989- facelift models with many new systems; anyway, let's just say that they're all excellent manuals from Haynes, even if the Princess 2 was given more coverage than it deserved...
Study of the cover artwork shows one has the six-cylinder engine and accordingly trapezoidal headlights, the other has 4-cylinder O-series engine and black-painted stainless steel trim... (Princess experts; note early engine block mounting of ignition coil - that's what those extra holes are for!) Both cars are shown with manual transmission.
