CHRIS WEISBERG: UNBIASED DOCUMENTARY
Chris Weisberg, what words can describe such a man, asshole ? dick ? cocksucker ? So many words, so little time. Allow to me introduce
myself, I am a Victim. A victim in the sense that I got burned by someone who I considered a friend. A victim in the sense that I believed every word
he said. A vicitm in the sense I placed all my trust in him, and he shit on it. Some of you may know who I am, and some of you may not. Surely, if
Chris were to read this himself, I would hope that he knows who I am. I could go on for days about stories and first hand experiences I've had with
Mr. Weisberg, but I don't have the time to go into depth. I will, however, summarize a few stories about Pro-Turbo that I think adaquately describes
Chris as well as his business. The list may grow from time to time so please check back often.
"TRUST ME"
How many times have people heard this from people they didn't trust ? How many times have you heard it from people you DO trust ?? Well,
let me give you a few details about an experience a personal friend of mine had with Pro Turbo, Chris Weisberg. My friend drives a 1991 Toyota
Supra Turbo. First of all, he got the deep shaft when Chris charged him almost $800 for a 60-1 Hi-Fi, when he had specifically told him it
"should cost no more than $500". My friend was looking for a little more low end power. Mistake 1: He consulted Chris. Chris told him that
from his experience, he found that the 60-1 responded better than a Hi-Fi, on a Supra (he specifically mentioned this). He went on to detail
an experience he had with a friend's Supra after installing a full size 60-1. "Dude, he dropped down to 3rd gear, doing like 80MPH on the freeway,
punched it and he lost traction.." Of course being Chris' friend at the time, we believed him. After the 60-1 was installed, response was no
better than the Hi-Fi unit, it was a tight fit in the engine compartment (damaging the AC lines), and he was now another $600 poorer. The next
chance he got, he told Chris. Chris responded by looking him in the eye, turning his head and looking off into the distance (as if pondering the
subject), then said, "hmph..." and walked away.
"YOUR TURBO IS READY"
How many times have you guys heard this one ? I've heard it many many times since most of my friends are turbocharged and they went to Chris for
their first turbos. But let me explain my personal experience. I had been trying to size up a bomb ass turbo for my car. I enlisted the aid of
Chris to help me do that. We had decided on a hybrid TA45/T51 with a big shaft CHRA and possibly a Q-trim exhaust side. Months passed and I heard
nothing of my turbo. As I began to receive reports of late delivery, I decided to press the issue. I asked Chris when it would be ready. He said
that he was trying to source some cheap T51s from Tennessee. Since I was on a budget, I agreed to hold off. Months passed again. I began to grow
restless as well as concerned. I asked once again. He told me he received my compressor wheel and that I could go to his house to see it if I wanted.
A few months later, I visited his home in BFE. He showed me a 102mm compressor wheel. I was impressed. I was even more impressed when I learned
that many others saw the same 102mm wheel, with the story that it was to be their compressor wheel as well. A few more months pass and things begin
to go bad between Pro Turbo and my friends. I never heard anything about my turbo again.
"DUDE, THIS IS THE DEEP DEAL"
Did he say deep deal or deep steal ? Allow me to explain what happened with an acquaintence of mine. I was pretty good friends with Chris at the time.
Good enough to the point that he would ask me about how much he should charge certain people for turbos. One day, this guy I knew wanted to get a
turbo. We knew Chris needed to make his money. And hell, better he make it off someone else rather than me right ? Anyways, we kinda hinted that
this "guy" would be able to "pay" a price for getting a bad ass turbo. So the price was set, $1200. The turbo was sold. The turbo was delivered
8 months later (what did you expect ?). Later, when we asked Chris about it, he told us that the turbo would only cost about $800 if you bought it
from Turbonetics or TEC. Bad ass turbo huh ? Turns out the turbo was just your every day, average TO4-SO4.
