Since there are so many great NASCAR SIM webs that
deal with setups, patches and FAQs, I just included them on my links page.
What I've decided to do here is feature results and great action pics!!!
Soooooooooo SEND ME YOUR LEAGUE RESULTS AND SOME WILD ACTION PICS with captions
and I will run it. I will change this once a week so check back often, but
don't forget to send your league results!!!! Also I want to start a driver
profile page, please send me a paragraph about yourself as a driver and a
pic of your car....and don't forget your hawaii handle.
Man what a race! I knew when I was given the Junie Donlovy #90 that it was
going to be a good night. (I spent a number of years living in Richmond VA
where Junie's shop is.) My second week in a row on the pole, and I am
beginning to feel like Jeff Gordon. I'm sure I will be "humbled" soon but
will enjoy it while it lasts! SSCA starts in single file so it's an advantage
for the pole sitter, as well as being safer for the field.... well... ahh...
its suppose-ta-be...
Driving the Green & Black #90 Helig Meyers car. In the lead after the green flag dropped, thanks to qualifing on the pole! Although you can see I have to work on getting up to speed better as timdaley (#9 blue & yellow) and Simfight (#2 black & gold) are quickly approaching.
A couple laps later, close racing out of turn 2 turns into disaster...Kimshew (#21) and BillWorrel (#24) tangling down the backstretch. Further behind, Jiker (black#3) takes it all in...
Seconds later collecting Naman (#25). Thierry_Allen tries to find a hole in the spinning malay of metal...
Thierry_Allan gets collected in a head on collision with Naman, now its a mad dash to the pits!! Naman has to negociate his car with a crumpled hood blocking his view. timdaley(#9) makes it through only to get tangled with Simfight going into turn 3 in a few moments.
After that we had about 50 laps of green flag racing. Thierry_Allan passed me and led for about 12 laps and then loosend up, I took back the lead, and was able to back off a bit because most of the cars had taken damage. Things got close when I pitted to take on 2 tires. Naman, who had worked his way back up from the big crash, closed up within 10 seconds, this thing was far from over....Time to turn up the wick.
Then 5 laps from the end, a caution flag. My nice cushy lead was gone save for two lapped cars (#28 & #5) between me and #23 SBycroft who quietly made his way through the field. Meanwhile the only other car on the lead lap, Naman ducked into the pits for fresh tires...(This guy is tricky!)
With just one lap to go the green and white flew. As usual, the lapped #28 got a jump on me... being the last lap, I let the lapped car by. He started climbing up going into one!!! TOO CLOSE FOR MEE!! I backed off avoiding an accident but also allowing SBycroft to close in.....Can I push any harder on the gas???
Racing to the checkered flag!! #23 SBycroft has to pass the lapped car #5 on the outside, giving me the room I needed to take the win!!
Next week Talladega...... hmmm gonna haveta see what the boys in the engine shop have been doin on our restrictor plate program to keep up with these SSCA-BGN hotdogs...
Seeya next week!!
