A serial killer with a distinctive style re-emerges in Honolulu. This killer plagued Holli in Los Angeles before suddenly stopping his spree six years ago. Now, he seems to have begun again, tormenting her with letters after each gruesome killing. Holli and Mack are joined by the L. A. cop who pursued the killer unsuccessfully for years. However, they are soon uncertain whether the real killer has returned or the cop has become a copy-cat in an attempt to revive his previous fame.
