110. Past Due
First Broadcast: December 2, 1995

The mother of a ten-year-old girl is rushed to the emergency room, where her blood makes all the attending medical personnel sick. We find that she has received a large dose of an organophosphate toxin called parathion. She was also suffering from terminal cancer. Mack and Holli must determine if her death was suicide, a mercy killing conducted by her father, or a foul play to claim her insurance estate. Holli's relationship with the daughter brings back memories of her own mother's unexplained death when she was only eight. Her empathy enables the little girl to make a healthy transistion through her grief. Ultimately, the murderer is neither the father nor the ne'er do well husband, but the female insurance agent who issued phony policies and pocketed the premiums herself.
