Please feel free to distribute these files. They are free. Other files can be found at the following web site: http://www.geocities.com/MTMilano/palm/ You can support this page by purchasing from the sponsors listed on the page. If you have questions about downloading files, decompressing zipped files, viewing files or installing these files onto your Palm, read below. _______________________________________________________________________ DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING FILES: If you are downloading files directly from "Mike's Palm Page," you can download a plain text (.txt) file or a zipped file. Plain text files can be viewed and downloaded directly from your web browser (see below) Zipped files should be saved to your computer, and unzipped using the appropriate program (i.e. pkunzip.exe or WinZip). Many computers are configured such that this program will automatically decompress the zipped file when you double click (while in "My Computer" or Window's "Explorer") on the .zip file's icon. Each zipped file contains: (1) A plain text (.txt) version of the file; (2) A document version of the file (.prc) which requires a document reader to view; (3) A memo pad archive (.mpa) version of the text; and (4) This readme.txt file You can choose which if any of the formats you want to use. _______________________________________________________________________ If you are downloading a text file from a web page: Text files (.txt) can be opened in your web browser by clicking on the appropriate link. Text can then be copied directly from your web browser and pasted into one of many different applications, including you Palm Desktop Memo Pad. Alternatively, .txt files can be saved (click Save As under your web browser's File menu). Saved text files (either downloaded from zipped files, or saved from your web browser as described above) can be converted to .prc document files by a Palm text editor such as Doc Reader (see below). _______________________________________________________________________ To load .prc files onto your Palm, double click on the .prc file's icon (while in "My Computer" or Window's "Explorer"), or use your Palm Desktop's install function (refer to your owner's manual). These files are in a document format and require a Palm document reader (such as Doc Reader at http://www.alltel.net/~mpicker0/DocReader/DocReader.htm). .mpa files can be imported into Memo Pad on your PC, using the Palm Desktop application. While in the Memo Pad window, select the Import command uner the File menu to add these Memo Pad records. Alternatively, the .mpa file can be opened as follows: select Open Archive under the File menu to open the .mpa file after selecting the desired Memo Pad records (simply click on the record, holding the control button to select multiple records), select Copy under the Edit menu to copy select Open Current under the File menu paste the records into your memo pad using the Paste command under the File menu. Refer to your owners manual for more information on how to upload .mpa files onto your palm. _______________________________________________________________________ Michael Milano, MD PhD MTMilano@yahoo.com http://www.geocities.com/MTMilano/palm/
