In 1981...(filmed in 1983) Laura is seated on a couch in the Cassadine Compound and the blind-fold is lifted...
They tell her she is home, she says it's more like a prison. They neglect to tell her who she is, only that everyone believes she's dead and will not be looking for her.
She listens to them and asks why they are doing this to her, she hasn't hurt anyone! Then she sees the photos on the table of Helena and Mikkos. "Cassadines? You're the Cassadines?"
Laura listens to these two servants tell her what her life will now be reduced to.
Stavros encircles her several times in the bedroom, asking her why she refuses him, what a man he is and how much he can teach her of passion. (BARF!) She tells him she will never give into him because if she does, he will never let her go. He asks her if she actually thinks Luke will wait for her. She says she doesn't care, that she'll go back to him. He tells her he thinks she's dead and she says once again that she doesn't care. Brutally he grabs her and she says no!
"Doesn't it matter to you at all that I HATE YOU? My God, doesn't bother you at all, does it?" she says, amazed. "No you're confused, you're frightened, but once you surrender-" "NO!"
He grabs her painfully as she tries to pull away screaming at him...
He picks her up harshly and throws her to the bed...
When she cries he realizes that her heart is with Luke and he doesn't want to take her this way. He wants her to be completely his when he does, so he gets off the bed and has a guard take her back and lock her in her room.
Stavros shows Laura the newspaper that Luke is dead. At first she believes it's a Cassadine trick but he convinces her, telling her he's a patient man, but he will not be patient with her forever and will take her whether or not she wants it.
Stavros and Laura marry. He turns to her, cups her face and looks into her dead, hateful eyes and says, "Now you are mine." And he kisses her. Though she doesn't fight, she does not respond at all.
Their wedding night, Laura comes to him in a white nightgown, he tears off the robe and tells her she belongs to him again.
As he kisses her, she makes the most painful expression with her closed. I applaud Genie's acting here, it was so perfectly done to make us see how disgusted and how much pain she was in as she let him touch her.
Laura hears her mother cry in the next room. Lesley and Laura are staying in the same hotel, their rooms next to each other. It kills Laura not to reach out to her grieving mother and tell her she's okay.
Laura walks the grounds of the mansion not knowing Luke is on the balcony above her. She remembers their wedding and silent tears stroll down her face.
Luke sees a blonde figure in the distance of the mansion.
Laura sees him shout her name, she sees the first real love of her life in front of her, will she run from him to return to her child and Stefan, or will she be captivated in a moment of being a free woman, Laura again instead of a prisoner for the rest of eternity? Will she take this moment and fulfill her fantasy as well as his and hold onto him, even if only for a moment?
He wasn't meant to see her, but she loves him so much, how can she run from him now and let him wonder forever if what he saw was real?
She begins running towards him and he cries...
Pulling back he asks her if she's real, crying desperately, wondering what happened to her.
He's so happy he can barely speak...
"Oh my God, you're alive, you're...you're home."
He tells her how much he loves her and she says nothing.
She breaks down and cries, from what she's been through, and how she was just ripped from Lasha to Laura.
Desperately trying not to cry, she looks at him, asking him to kiss her.
He leans in...
And kiss her he does! Hello!
He asks her where she's been and she freezes up in fear, telling him he never saw her and that she hd to go as she tries to pull away.
"What are you crazy? I'm not gonna let you go!" he cries desperately.
"What are you talking about?" "Listen to me! I'm being followed...and if they see me with you or any other member of my family they'll kill all of us!" "Who? Who are you talking about? Who's following you?" "The man who's following me," she cries trying to break free. "Who? Where are they?" "Please if you love me just let me GO!" "I will NEVER let you go!"
"If you are hurt, if you are being followed, if you are in danger of ANY kind, I will take care of it!" he vows to her.
After he reassures her, there's only love between them.
She's lost being touched by him again.
"My God, you're real..."
He's too thrilled for words...
In joy, he throws her up in his arms.
She's exhausted and he carries her into the mansion.
They talk, she only has the strength to tell him that Helena's held her captive on an island in the Aegean, but nothing else yet. He holds her and offers to take her upstairs.
