This storyline began in June, 1996, and changed lives forever. It is far to complicated not to explain, so enjoy the ride of Spencer VS Cassadines, and the ride with Laura and Stefan...the past coming back to haunt her.
It all began when Lesley Lu Spencer became deathly ill with Aplastic Anemia, a disease which shuts down the part of the body that makes blood cells. A terrible, ugly way to die. (My baby girl doggy died of that)
Watching their baby girl dying...
Lesley Lu's too sick for her parents to even be in the room.
Monica Quartermaine, a lifelong friend, almost motherlike friend to Laura, comforts her about her daughter being so ill, reminds Laura that her mother loves her.
Laura feels incredibly guilty that her mother is dead (questions rise) and holds a necklace after Monica leaves, crying and saying, "Forgive me, mother."
After Monica leaves, Laura can't take her daughter dying any longer, and calls Helena Cassadine, last scene at Luke and Laura's wedding in 1981...
Bobbie tells Laura that she has a daughter who might be able to save Lulu's life. Bobbie never knew who the father is of her baby was (hmmm, like Laura), how ashamed she was that she could hand her child to someone else and give her up (pain...) and how Laura could NEVER understand keeping something that huge from her husband. (Ouch!) Bobbie tells Laura she will find her daughter and face having to tell her husband to save Lesley Lu's life. Through Bobbie's strength, Laura finds her own to start World War III in Port Charles.
Bobbie tells Laura how guilty she is...
Laura can't believe Bobbie and her have this in common, she feels love for Bobbie, Bobbie's trust to tell Laura. Laura wants to tell Bobbie...
Laura feels the guilt Bobbie feels, admiring Bobbie's strength.
Bobbie, who always saw Laura as an "blonde princess", can't imagine what Laura must think of her. "You would've handled something like this with a lot more grace than me...but then you've always been a...much less selfish person than I am." Laura cries, saying, "Please don't do that...that's a pedastal I don't deserve to be on."
Laura tells Bobbie how strong she is, and how much she wishes she had that strength.
Bobbie tells Laura how much she wishes she could have her first born child back...Laura understands.
Bobbie wonders why Laura has shed so many tears...
Laura can't believe how much Bobbie's story is like hers.
Laura holds Bobbie and tells her how strong she is.
Though Bobbie's strength, Laura finds her own to know she must do *anything* to save her daughter.
Laura's about to tell Bobbie about her first born child she left behind too...
Luke walks in, Laura has to tell him privately.
Laura tells Luke how wonderful Bobbie is.
Luke hugs his two favorite women.
They're his life.
Bobbie leaves, Laura wants to tell Luke...
Lulu is too close to dying, it's all Laura can take! She refuses to stand by and do nothing while her daughter's body kills itself! A man calls her, calling her Lasha, telling her to meet him at Spoon Island if she wants her daughter to live. Laura, though nearly collapsing from fear, will do anything for her children.
Luke comes in, tries to comfort Laura and she feels too guilty. She's about to go meet a Cassadine and she's too afraid to let Luke hold her. She's not even sure who was on the phone. She warns Luke. "I will do anything, I will hurt anyone! It's selfish but I'm going to stand by and let her die!"
