The room still smells sweetly of soil that was unearthed during its refurbishment. It may not be large, but it certainly has its curiosities!

(Post-May 20th 2003) My final review

Thank you, Justin, for the new info! To visit his site, click here.
Rounding out today's news, Buena Vista Home Entertainment has just announced the direct-to-video sequel Atlantis: Milo's Return. Debuting on May 20th, this one features a 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround tracks, 2 featurettes, a game, and promos. Retail is $29.95.

Compiled Information:
Milo Thatch and his comrades leave Atlantis to investigate mysterious forces causing trouble on the surface. Their travels will take them from the frigid Nordic Mountains to the dry and baking Southwest as they discover legends, sea monsters and spirits opposing them. During the escapade Kida comes into a greater understanding of just how powerful the Mother Crystal is and must choose between hiding and sharing it with the rest of mankind. Milo and Kida, as they discover the mystery is linked to the Heart of Atlantis (supposidly linked to an artifact supposedly called, "The Spear of Destiny"), must again protect Atlantis.

The sequel is three stories, in other words, three episodes from what was to be a series called, "Team Atlantis." (The original sequel, entitled, "Shards of Chaos," has been scrapped.) Supposedly 10 minutes of additional animation was done to link the stories more closely.

Translation: Milo and Kida fans, you won't be gypped! Hopefully this sequel will stay true and give us insight into characters with only limited development.

Features:

  • Game: "Search for the Spear of Destiny"
    • Random course generator
    • Matching correct artifacts with the lost city you learn about to recover the Spear and save the city
  • Deleted scene OR alternate ending
  • Interactive Menus (What menus aren't nowadays?)
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and DTS 5.1 Digital Surround Sound
  • English, French, and Spanish tracks on DVD
  • 80 min long. (Not bad for 3 episodes!)
  • Rumored to be widescreen.
