"This large decendant of the Whooping Crane is inspireed by "The Great Blue Windrunner" from "The Future is Wild" and these mountain dwelling birds that live in Th Atlatean Rockies in my story have two pairs of wings - Normal wings, and wings that evolved from the legs- for speed, distance, and manuverbility. These birds can soar in the thin Mountain air, blue feathers to reflect ultraviolet light found in high alititudes, and are perfectly adapted to mountain life."
