"HOW TO PRESERVE CHILDREN"
Take one large grassy field; half a dozen children, all sizes; three small dogs; and one narrow strip of brook, pebbly if possible. Mix the children with the dogs and empty them into the field, stirring continually. Sprinkle with field flowers, pour brook gently over pebbles, cover all with a deep blue sky and bake in a hot sun. When the children are well brown they may be removed. Will be found ready for setting away to cool in the bath tub.

OLD FASHIONED LEMONADE RECIPE
4 lemons
3/4 c. sugar
4 c. cold water
Cut lemons into thin slices, remove seeds. Place slices in a large non-metal bowl; sprinkle with sugar and let stand for 10 min. Press lemons with the back of a spoon to extract juice. Add water, stirring and pressing lemons. Remove lemon slices and serve over ice. Garnish with additional lemon slices. Makes 4 servings.


Take some stemmed water glasses and freeze them in the freezer. Then when you are ready to serve the tea take the glasses out of the freezer. The glasses will have a nice frost on them

ICE CUBE HINT
If you are serving Iced Tea or Lemonade just make a few trays of ice from the beverage you are serving. Then when the ice cubes melt it won't water down the beverage.

CALIFORNIA LEMONADE RECIPE
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. lemon juice, freshly squeezed
5 cardamom seeds, ground
Boil sugar and lemon juice at med. heat for 8 to 10 min. Remove from heat lemonade,mix one tablespoon of concentrate with one cup of sparkling water
