Stress Management
Actually this program is called Stress Measurement & Management. The word "measurement" is included in the title because stress cannot be managed until it's first measured.
You have a common misconception if you think of stress as a bad thing. Furthermore, stress is not something that relates only to humans. Both concrete and steel are stressed for increased strength. In almost the same way, humans need stress for strength.
Stress simply means to force something out of its resting position. At first it becomes stronger, but if you force it excessively it will gradually become weaker and then eventually break.
Stress was a popular and overused diagnosis during the 1980s, similar to the hypnoglycemia fad (low-blood sugar) of the 1970s. So for the concept of stress management to be useful it's necessary to understand the mechanics of stress--otherwise there is a risk of misdiagnosis.
This program uses a Stress Index Evaluation that Carl Weisbrod first published in 1988. This is a tool to indicate if your stress level is too high, just right, or even too low.
It's also very important to understand such concepts as stressors, baseline stress, stress-caused anxiety, and stress-caused depression. All this is covered in (2) audio cassettes and a workbook. Tech support is included.
