My Pear Tree Branches
Each of us have a genealogy tree. Some of us know nothing of it, while others are blessed with the knowledge of their past. This is part of my effort at tracing my family tree. On these pages consist of the branches of that tree, and what knowledge I have of these various surnames.
I have provided an index of surnames below. Simply click on the links provided below to see what I have on each of my surnames. Once there you will view a descendancy chart of my latest ancestor known for that surname, and all information I have for that line. I have also provided an ahnatafel chart for me beneath the Surname Index, so that you can view how each of these is related to me.

Notes for Elisha Partridge:
It appears that after the death of Elvira, many of the children
moved in with other families in Croydon. However, two children cannot be
found, they are Rachel and Sarah. It is likely then that they died before
1850.
Elisha received his education in district schools and worked at farming for various employers for several years. He later bought a farm of 200 acres near his father's place, where he resided until 1850. He then moved to the east part of Croydon and bought a house, residing there working as a carpenter and a masoner. In 1853 he removed to Croydon Flats, where he bought and resided on a small farm, carrying on his trades. He later removed to his first residence, where he remained until his death.
In the 1860 Census, Elisha is found in Croydon, Sullivan Co., NH with wife Marinda (Ellen), and daughter Emma. No mention of Williard B. or Sarah. These children may have died young.

Ella was a native of Maine.

Notes for William Partridge:
William, along with his brother John and sister Margeret
(Margerie), sailed overseas from England to America. The exact port from
which they sailed is unknown, however, history had him as residing in Bedenhall,
Essex County, England, prior to the sailing. Though their exact arrival
date and port cannot be found, there is in the archives of Conneticut a
will of Adam Beebe who died aboard an unknamed ship to America; this will,
evidently written while sailing has the signatures of William and John
Partridge as witnesses. These signatures match those found in the record's
of Medfield, MA. William received land in Medfield, MA, where in the spring
of 1651 he was granted six acres for a house-lot on North Street (otherwise
known as Bachelor's Row). Evidently he did not build his home until 1653
when he took the freeman's oath, and settled the town. In the annual town
meeting of Medfield, year 1655, William was one of three men chosen to
"burn the woods": an old Indian practice in which the bushes
and small trees in the outermost sections of town were set ablaze in a
controlled fire to clear the common pastures for "herd-walks."
William was selectman in the years 1666 and 1678. In the year 1675 he subscribed
to the "new brick college," and was listed as a proprietor of
Medfield, MA. In his will William gave 1/2 his estate to his wife Sarah,
and the remainder to his sons John and William. John died in 1719, without
a family, so his part of the estate was divided among the other six children.
The property soon passed out of the family name. His will is on record
at the Suffolk County Probate Court (1686-1692)

John PARTRIDGE came to Medfield, MA from Dedham in 1653, and was accompanied by his brother William and sister Margery. He was in Dedham at least a year earlier than that, for on "ye 1 Mo. 1652" he shared with others in the division of 500 acres of land. (Dedham Town Rec.'s, vol. iii., p. 211). John took up a house lot on Bachelor's Roe, later North Street. His place was near his brother William, and Thomas Mason, later husband of Margery Partridge. John signed the proprietors agreement of Medfield (History of Medfield, Tilden, p. 429). John was chosen clerk of the market in 1672. In 1676, at the burning of Medfield by the Indians, John's house and barn were destroyed, together with a quantity of grain and several head of cattle (History of Medfield, Tilden, p. 95).

as having a house. When the town was burned by indians in 1676, Thomas
Mason's house was destroyed; and he, with sons Thomas and Zachariah were
killed, it is said near the spring in the meadow opposite the house. The
rest of the family probably had fled to the garrison.
