Jennifer's Paper Pages

Greetings, The following papers are mostly from a few anthropology classes I took as an undergrad (Anthropology of Gender and Anthropological Theory). Some of these were presented at Minnesota State Unversity Mankato's, Undergraduate Research Conference. Currently I've been added some of my graduate research papers, the most recent is from Archaeological Method and Theory (a gender paper no less), and an independent project research paper on Virtual Archaeology. I have 13 papers from a contentious issues class, but they aren't very interesting so I'm not going to put in the time or server space to put them in. I have some theory essays of some interest those may go in later. HTML does not work with footnotes very well, so I've done my best with the coding (if not scroll to the end of the page). Updates to this page should be constant.

Note:  If you are reading these papers and intend to plagarize them in any degree you are fooling no one, and in the end only screwing yourself over by not reading, researching, and understanding some very interesting information and people. These papers are the sole copyright of me, Jennifer. I have spent a great deal of time working on these papers so please do me a favor and don't plagiarize or copy them.

Gender Papers

Papers from my Anthropology of Gender Class and other Gendered works from subsequent classes (really I wonder if I'm not a feminist deep down)

1998 - An Essay on the book Zapotec Women by Lynn Stephen.

1998 - Gender Relations and Alcohol: an examination of the book The Cocktail Waitresses: Women's Work in a Man's World. (A very interesting read!)

2000 - Matriarchies and the goddess figurines: A critical Examination of the Work of Marija Gimbutas. (A research paper. Pretty much an Examination of Gods and Goddesses of Old Europe A long paper.)

Theory Papers

(A smattering of papers from anthropological theory class in 98' and from Archaeological Method and Theory Class 2000,)

1998 - Rationalism and Early Anthropology: After reading Morgan, Tylor, and Spencer

2000 - Paradigm and Theory an Examination of Thomas Kuhn (I thought this was one of my best pieces from method and theory class.)

2000 - What is Archaeology and Why is it Important? (After almost 4 years of studying this stuff you'd think I would know the answer to this! LOL)

Anthropology and Archaeology Research Papers

(These were presented as Mankato State's Undergraduate Research Conference, or were independent study projects)

2000 - Virtual Archaeology: The World Wide Web, Virtual Reality and The Technological Frontier. (Pretty much a survey of current technology and how it could/is being using in archaeology.)

1999 - A Critical Look at Archaeoastronomy and the Anasazi Culture of the American Southwest  (This one gets a little theoretical...)
